It is also known as e-shopping in which the purchases made online either by computers or SmartPhones.




You can shop online with or without full authentication.

E-shopping or online shopping or e-store are all virtual types of stores which allow customers to buy products or services over the internet.

It is convenient for the people to shop online without spending their valuable time in markets.




But There is risk in ordering things online as Information about user’s activity on the Web is being recorded and there will be privacy losses. Many users are not aware about it. Web users leave a “data shadow” with information about what they read, where they shop, what they buy, whom they correspond with and so on.

Before Placing An Order

  1. Carefully read the terms and conditions, including the small print. These terms and conditions should be available on the merchant’s website.
  2. Check that the merchant’s address details are available on the webpage and save or print them in case you need to return any items. If no address details are given, you should proceed with caution. Make a note of the URL address of the shop.
  3. Read what the merchant has to say about delivery costs, accepted currencies and applicable taxes.


When Making A Purchase

  1. Save or print the description and the terms and conditions which are displayed by the merchant and which you need to accept before you can place your order.
  2. Accept the payment by entering the number and expiry date of your card on the online form and follow the merchant’s instructions. If the online store uses full authentication, you will then be transferred for instance to your online banking service for identification.
  3. Save or print the acknowledgement of your payment displayed by the merchant.
  4. Keep the saved or printed details in case they are needed later for checking or for comparison.

 

If victim of online fraud then What should you do?


  • Report it to your local police or contact us for any cyber assistance.
